Revaison, a wood-built secondary school made off-site in less than a year!
Saint Priest / France
Constructed by: Bouygues Bâtiment Sud-Est
Project manager and project owner: Métropole de Lyon
Industrial partner: Ossabois
To construct the buildings of France’s second wood-built secondary school manufactured “off-site”, Bouygues Bâtiment Sud-Est joined forces with modular wood construction specialist Ossabois. The 100 wooden modules and the 4,300 m² of walls and floors in wood from managed forests were manufactured in workshops close to the city of Lyon, before being assembled on site. This innovative construction process presents a number of advantages, such as a 50% reduction in carbon emissions compared to concrete construction, a halving of production times, optimum working conditions in workshops and improved energy efficiency.
“The Collège Revaison project in Saint-Priest is an amazing opportunity for Bouygues Bâtiment Sud-Est to showcase the many advantages of modular wooden construction. For our customers, this method allows us to complete projects more quickly, with higher quality and environmental standards."
