The Abomey-Calavi University Hospital, with health at its heart
Abomey-Calavi / Benin
Designed with French architects Michel Beauvais Associés on the basis of a programme carried out by the Paris Public Hospital Authority (AP-HP)
Project manager: Republic of Benin Ministry of Health
A project developed by Bouygues Bâtiment International
Bouygues Bâtiment International and its partners are responsible for developing the new Abomey-Calavi university hospital. Having organised the project financing, our teams are now in charge of optimising the design and carrying out works on this major project in Benin. The Abomey-Calavi University Hospital consists of six large hospitalisation units. The technical platform will include three day hospitals, an emergency unit, a laboratory, medical imaging, radiotherapy and nine operating theatres. The project will also include teaching areas, staff accommodation, a mortuary and medical, catering and technical logistics units.
Alongside the development of Ridge Hospital in Ghana, the construction of the Mohammed VI hospital in Bouskoura, Morocco, and the renovation of the Yopougon hospital in Côte d’Ivoire, the Abomey-Calavi University Hospital is a major hospital development for Bouygues Construction in Africa. The Covid-19 pandemic has confirmed the need for effective health facilities all over the world and demand for hospital infrastructures is growing. As part of the Bouygues Healthcare Solutions offering, other projects are being considered to help put healthcare at the heart of tomorrow’s world.
